U.S. CUSTOMS and BORDER PROTECTION has changed its policy with respect to the application of Penalties for the importation of violative Solid Wood Packaging Materials. Until now, penalties were only issued after an importer or responsible party had incurred 5 violations. With effect from 1 November 2017, importers/responsible parties may be issued a penalty with the first violation and for each violation thereafter.
